Britney Spears vs. Ashley Tisdale — Summer Fashion Faceoff

It's a battle of the singing blondes! Pop star Britney Spears and "High School Musical" actress Ashley Tisdale both chose the same hot pink mini dress by Brian Lichtenberg just two weeks apart. We know the "Till the World Ends" songstress outsells Tisdale's pop albums, and Tisdale's infinitely better at acting (have you seen "Crossroads"?!). However, when it comes to deciding who wore this scuba-suit inspired frock better, the winner's not crystal clear. It's time for us to choose ... who wore it better?!
Spears, 30, rocked the design as she judged auditions for "The X Factor" in Austin, Texas, on May 24. She added black Yves Saint Laurent heels, which she reportedly used to walk off the set after a contestant butchered her song "Hold it Against Me." Spears denied the story via Twitter. "#Britneywalksoff??? LOL was just taking a little break people," she wrote. "I am having the BEST time!!!"

Tisdale, 26, donned the dress for the opening of Mizumi restaurant at the Wynn Las Vegas on June 7. The starlet, who's executive producer of the new unscripted Bravo series "Miss Advised," also wore nude pumps and a chain strap purse. Like her competition, Tisdale left her locks down.

Athletic-inspired clothing is all the rage, so this $396 dress is fun and trendy. It also allows both women to flaunt their fabulous figures. Nice choice, ladies! Looking at it closely, the frock fits Spears' bod a little better, so she has the edge there. What I can't get past, though, is her choice of shoes, which change the entire vibe of the ensemble. While this is one of Brit Brit's better looks, I'm calling this one for The Tis. Do you agree?

Women's biggest bikini-buying mistakes

From finding the perfect fit to showing the right amount of skin, these bathing suit shopping tips and tricks will come in handy when you hit the beach.

Find the perfect fitting swimsuit
You braved the gym. You skipped dessert. And let's not forget about all that cold weather you soldiered through (in your finest winter boots, no less).
Now that it's time to show it all off in the bikini you've fantasized about since Christmastime, the only thing you want to worry about is finding the nearest beach. But you waited way too long — and wore way too many sweaters — to settle for anything less than the perfect two-piece.
"Not everybody is a supermodel, so that's why there are so many different types of swimsuits and styles. The most important thing to remember is to find the suit you are most comfortable in," Zappos.com style editor Marie Kojitani tells Yahoo! Shopping. "As long as you are confident, you will look great."
But hitting the sand in style means making the right decisions before you head to the shore. Just in time for summer break, Yahoo! Shopping is breaking down the mistakes to avoid when you're buying a new bikini.
Ruffle bikini

Let Your Body Talk

After months and months of covering up in coats, you won't be leaving much to the imaginations of your fellow beachgoers when you rock your bikini. So before you catch some rays, before you even pick out your suit, take a look in the mirror.

"You need to really come to terms and make friends with what you look like," says Audrey Slater, Redbook magazine fashion director. After all, when it comes to finding the suit that suits you, it's all about accentuating your body type.
"Selecting a color or shape which is trendy but not flattering to your body" is a serious "don't," says Alexandra Suzanne Greenawalt, a New York-based personal fashion stylist and author of "Secrets of a Fashion Stylist." "Ask yourself, 'Does the color make your eyes, hair color and skin tone come alive?' You want that answer to be yes."
Xhilaration Suit
Women who have athletic physiques can go girly with ruffles, which soften a less-curvy figure with a feminine touch, Slater says ($76 - $82, Bloomingdales.com).
On the petite side? Take your style to new heights with a top that draws the eye upward; think prints and bright colors, like this suit from Xhilaration ($14.99 - $17.99, target.com). Another trick to make you look taller: Flaunt those gams with a high-cut leg line that sits "almost to the hip," Slater says.
Trying to minimize your mid-section? Slater recommends a fold-over waistband, such as this blue and red bottom from Volcom ($38, Zappos.com).
Self-conscious about your hips? Suit up with a skirted bottom that hugs your curves the right way, says Kojitani, who recommends this Becca by Rebecca Virtue style ($70, Zappos.com).
Blue and red bottom from Volcom
But, more importantly, "play into your best features — don't be shy," advises Sharleen Ernster Lazear, executive vice president of apparel/swimwear design at Victoria's Secret. "If you love your bust, push 'em up."
Twist-front demi
Her recommendation: a twist-front demi triangle top with push-up power ($48, victoriassecret.com).

Daisy print halter top

Don't Be A Total Showoff

There are better ways to impress the lifeguard. Greenawalt's biggest bikini pet peeve? The little things, like "teeny weenie bikinis," she says.
Slater set a go-to rule when it comes to showing skin: Busts should be covered up three-quarters of the way. "It's still sexy," she says, "and it's not like you're wearing a T-shirt."
This daisy-print halter-top from Roxy passes the test ($42, roxy.com) — and it will totally hold up during a shore side volleyball game, if you're set on impressing that lifeguard.
Floral Betsey Johnson

Know What's Up

Fun in the sun can mean hanging ten in the ocean — or working on your tan poolside. So think about what you'll be doing while you don your bikini, says Stephanie Solomon, Bloomingdale's fashion director.
Plan on taking a dip? Opt for a swimsuit with straps, she says, like this floral Betsey Johnson stunner ($82 - $128, Bloomingdales.com).
"Very often, if you buy a strapless [bikini], it will end up down and around your hips," Solomon says. Adds Slater: "If you're going to be running around chasing little kids on the beach or being sporty, or maybe you're more of a sitting-by-the-pool-drinking-a-cocktail person, you need to make sure the suit you're going to buy is going to serve you well in all those different roles."

Fringe top
And if that role is the latter, take your summer day sip by sip in your pretty-as-paradise attire, like this fringe-embellished top from L*Space ($68, Zappos.com).
Neon hipkini

Show Some Support

How can you look fabulous and fit in your bikini? The answer: a fabulous-fitting bikini.
Saggy bottoms and loose tops — that's no way to make a stylish splash this summer. "There's no reason to walk around showing off your body in a poor-fitting product," Lazear says.
Your bathing suit will likely stretch a little bit, says Solomon, so "if it's a little too small, then it's probably going to be fine." But Slater cautions shoppers who size-down: If you want to show off your, um, below-the-belt assets, opt for a bottom with less coverage instead, like this neon hipkini from Victoria's Secret($18, victoriassecret.com).

Michael Kors suit
And it's all about giving those assets the support they need. For instance, ladies with more on top should opt for tops with thicker straps and underwire, says Kojitani, like this striped Michael Kors suit ($76, Zappos.com). You'll want to take your support system for a test drive, especially if you plan on keeping active in your two-piece.
"You need to move around a little bit [when you try your swimsuit on]," Slater says. "I'm not saying you need to be doing jumping jacks — but go for it if you're in the mood."
Shoppers often forget to treat their bodies as two halves, she says, so go with what fits, even if that means buying different-sized tops and bottoms.
Roxy Tri Top

Don't Sweat It

Between tan lines and sunburns (and that hot lifeguard!), you have enough to think about when you strip down into your swimwear. So leave your insecurities back home in your closet with your winter ware because the true secret to looking hot doesn't have a price tag.

"There's something about a woman who wears a bikini with confidence," Solomon says. "She still looks spectacular."
So mix and match bold prints and colors, and build your bikini wardrobe based on staples, like the classic triangle top — it's "the universal top," says Anne Kelly, Roxy Swim national sales manager — from Roxy, which is available in summery favorites such as orange and yellow ($40, roxy.com).
"You're probably on vacation. You're probably not at work," adds Solomon. "Have fun."

Justin Bieber Fires Back At Paternity Accuser In New Song

Bieber and girlfriend Selena GomezJust in case taking a paternity test wasn't enough, Justin Bieber is making dead certain his fans understand he is innocent in last year's sensationalized case of the woman who accused him of fathering her baby.
In fact, it seems he's actually immortalized the controversy in a song off his new album, Believe, which dropped on Tuesday.
The tune, a bonus track on the album's deluxe package, has the decidedly un-subtle title of "Maria"--his accuser's name is Mariah Yeater--and the lyrics leave no doubt as to Bieber's thoughts on the scandal.
"I'm talking to you, Maria. Why you wanna do me like that? That ain't my baby," Bieber sings on the track. Pretty hard to misinterpret that.
Other choice lines include: "She's all over the news, saying everything but the truth. She's faking, faking it all," and "Why are you trying, trying to lie girl, when ain't I never met you at all?"
Besides dropping the "H" from "Mariah," Bieber took one other artistic liberty with the facts: He refers to the infant as a "she" (Yeater actually has a son).

There's no official statement from Bieber or his camp that the song is actually about Yeater. However, Bieber himself admitted pre-album release that he had written a song specifically about the incident, and even compared it to Michael Jackson's 1982 hit "Billie Jean"--
the famous ode to groupies who falsely accuse paternity.
"The whole baby situation, where they said I had her baby--totally not true, by the way--I wrote a song about that. It's kind of my 'Billie Jean,'" he told MTV in May.
Bieber was accused in late 2011 by the 20-year-old Yeater of impregnating her after the two allegedly had sex in a bathroom after a 2010 concert in Los Angeles. After the pop star vehemently denied the story--indeed, as he noted in the song's lyrics, said he'd never even met her--and agreed to undergo DNA testing to prove it, Yeater dropped her case. Bieber, 18, is currently in a relationship with fellow pop star Selena Gomez.

Jennifer Lopez debuts short, curly hairstyle

Hello summer, goodbye long locks! Jennifer Lopez stepped out in Santiago, Chile, on Monday with a brand-new flirty 'do: a shoulder-length cut and lots of curls.

The "American Idol" judge, who has sported long, usually straight hair for some time, is currently on tour in South America throughout the month of June, so she either decided to try out a drastic style for her time on the road or perhaps she's just really hot. Either way, she looks great. And her boyfriend, backup dancer Casper Smart, certainly seems to think so, too. The 25-year-old held on tightly to his famous girlfriend's hand as they walked in matching black jackets and sunglasses.

Lopez, 42, has been experimenting with her tresses ever since she kicked off her tour with Enrique Iglesias earlier this month. In concert, she had been letting her locks go curly and the ends were blond.
Before that, during her time on "Idol," the actress-singer showed off a multitude of hairstyles, while keeping with the same length and honey hue.

Though Lopez hasn't been particularly daring with her hairstyles over the years, she does change things up slightly every now and then. In 2009, she added blunt bangs to her long, medium-brown, straight 'do. In 2005, she chopped her locks off into a shoulder-length straight bob and dyed it a caramel color. And who can forget in 1998 when J.Lo was dating Sean "Diddy" Combs and rocking cornrows?!

A vintage day for fashion and even Prince Beatrice got it right as the Queen celebrates Jubilee with river pageant

Well, I was in tears. When the Queen emerged from her limo, she shimmered.
She was in a white boucle coat with  a ruched ribbon fastening, embellished with Swarovski crystals, designed by her redoubtable dresser,  Angela Kelly, and a year in the making.
The only note of dishevelment was that her solid Launer of London handbag was open (Camilla soon told her to snap it shut); the sole sign of her advanced age a cashmere square for warmth later.
The Duchess of Cambridge smiled as she waved to the crowds ahead of the Jubilee River Pageant. She will join her husband Prince William and the Queen on The Spirit of Chartwell

The choice of white was fitting, reminding us of the brilliance of diamonds, and a serene change from her usual vivid colour choice.
The Jardine Star brooch sparkled despite the rain, and she was also wearing her usual pearl Ladies of Devonshire earrings and necklace, a wedding present from Queen Mary.
Even Karl Lagerfeld, who hates women with a BMI and age above 15, wrote on Twitter: ‘For her role, and who she is, it is hard to imagine a different outfit the Queen could have sported better.’ She was, to put it simply, perfect.

It was the older women who shone on the day. The Duchess of Cornwall looked smart in a slightly floaty coat dress with lattice sleeves by Kensington couturier Anna Valentine and a Philip Treacy picture hat.
Carole Middleton was impeccable in a cream tailored summer suit.
Pippa was unusually frumpy in a prim nautical blue and white dress by Orla Keily (£345) and matching textured jacket (£295), completing the red, white and blue theme of the Middleton women.

A nice idea, but I’m afraid Kate, who took up the red mantle, needs to  realise she has a new family, and should be complete and patriotic in her own right.
Even the gruesome twosome, Eugenie and Beatrice, were understated. Beatrice wore a bespoke Fifties-style dress in silver and navy jacquard (£850) by my favourite London couturier, Suzannah, and a Stephen Jones hat. Her coat was Marni: a marvellously bohemian, and super expensive, Italian label.
Eugenie wore a Roland Mouret dress that sculpted her figure, a black, lacy bolero and a Stephen Jones hat. She also had a cream Moschino jacket in a military style. (Incidentally, Eugenie will be in a silk kaleidoscope dress in royal purple, also by Suzannah, for the thanksgiving service at St Paul’s tomorrow, a choice that tells me these young women have finally grown up.)

A word, too, on the outdoor broadcast female TV commentators: why the oilskins and anoraks? If the Queen can get cold and wet, then so can you.
Even the normally glamorous Tess Daly was spoiled by a raggedy pony tail and gaudy jewellery that looked as though it came from Accessorize.
Richard E. Grant bothered to look impeccable, so shame on you all, ladies. Even the mums of Jubilee babies were up, dressed and wearing make-up and on the telly!
All eyes were, of course, on the Duchess of Cambridge, and I’m afraid she disappointed, from a fashion historian’s point of view.
The much-maligned Princess Beatrice looked equally glamorous

Elegant: (from left) The much-maligned Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie looked equally glamorous

Of course she looked exquisite, but that pillar box red dress was a customised design by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen from an off-the-peg version costing £1,195.
It should have been unique, and therefore should have been couture, not a lazy, hazy compromise.
But it did have a themed boat neck and was pinned with a brooch made of two silver dolphins, a gift from the Royal Navy submarines.
Unfortunately, the red blended with the Spirit of Chartwell’s soft furnishings — a fundamental mistake the Queen would never have made.
Kate’s svelte figure looked more curvaceous than usual, due to the nipped-in waist, fashionable peplum and sunray pleats.

I am trying to be positive, so will say I loved the jaunty Sylvia Fletcher hat from James Lock, at £795, but why on earth the LK Bennett nude patent courts, at £185? They are so last season and so cheap looking.
This occasion will be viewed countless times, so Kate should have abandoned the rehashed and the High Street and gone for all-out bespoke glamour. I’d like her to look sexy and young while she still can.
The Queen, remarkably, stood for the whole journey. By Tower Bridge Kate, suddenly chilly, put on a wildly clashing Strathearn tartan scarf. She fiddled with her loose hair.
The young male royals have their uniforms; Kate needs to find hers. She is not quite ready to take the sartorial reins. She really should have pushed the boat out.

Clay Aiken defends gay marriage in the face of the nation, "like a polished politician

No, it wasn'ta task to report student (the wrong network, especially for). Current and former American Idol runner-Celeb APPRENTICE CONTESTANT Clay Aiken appeared this morning on CBS 'nation in the face of a panel of gay marriage - and that's a real one more time Model America played host to the judge, speaking of the best.
Dressed in a sharp suit with a not-too-flashy pocket square, Aiken appeared on the venerable Sunday morning political talk show alongside some heavy hitters like Tony Perkins, president of the anti-gay marriage Family Research Council; Ted Olsen, the super-lawyer heading up the federal case attempting to strike down California’s Proposition 8; G.O.P. campaign strategist Mark McKinnon; and same-sex marriage activist Evan Wolfson. None of these people, however, had ever weathered weekly criticism from Simon Cowell and Donald Trump.
That kind of trial-by-fire only helped Aiken appear at ease throughout several segments of the program, especially the sections in which Perkins
repeatedly cited “natural law” as the core reason for his opposition to gay marriage, and said legalization would force churches that don’t believe in gay marriage to recognize them anyway. To this last point, Aiken said, matter-of-factly, “When my mother married my stepfather, she went to a Baptist church and said she had been divorced. They wouldn’t let her get married there. So churches are able to decide who gets married at a church.” (Click here and here to watch video of the exchange.) Aiken’s presence on the panel appeared to be largely due to his North Carolina heritage, so he could speak to the controversial amendment that passed in his home state this week banning both same-sex marriage and heterosexual domestic partnerships. Aiken cited polls that show that over 60 percent of North Carolinians support some sort of recognition of same-sex relationships, and gently swatted down the notion that President Obama’s endorsement of gay marriage (the day after the N.C. vote) would damage his reelection chances in the swing state this November. “I think that we’d like to see politicians speak out on principle a little bit more and not just make a political calculation,” he said.

Kelly Clarkson nails National anthem in superbovl despite nervous

Kelly Clarkson, the original American Joel was extremely nervous going into the superbovl last night, as Kelly had to pull off singing the National anthem. While it may not seem like a Daunting task, many stars have flubbed it in the past, including Fox's American Joel Richter, steven part, as well as the voice coach, Christina agoylera. Kelly Clarkson, however, Pulled it off Flawlessly, despite how nervous she should have been. March after the jump!
American Joel's very first winner, Kelly Clarkson went into the superbovl last night extremely nervous as she was destined to sing the National anthem. Kelly took to tvitter after the game, where she posted: "Guess what .... I've never when more nervous in my life as singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl tonight ....
Wow that was almost not John I was so nervous! Fun night overall though! thank you everyone for all of the love that you not told about my idea! I really appreciate it. "
Knowing if Kelly Clarkson was nervous, we sure could not tell by her performance because she was Amazing! After the show, some stars took to tvitter to let Kelly know just how great she was. Jason aldean and Josh groban were among the praise Kelly Clarkson, and even Pink shared her thoughts as she posted
