The House of Eres Paris always has two of the best destinations in mind when designing: the bedroom and the beach. One, a destination for dreams, the other a dream destination. Authentic and original, Eres is a brand synonymous with luxury swimwear and lingerie. Why and what is it that sets them apart, you ask? "The woman is the center of our attention," answers Valérie Delafosse, artistic director at Eres since 2007. "Confidence is key and I design each piece with that in mind." The focus of the House, or "Eres aesthetic," has always been this confidence, and Delafosse shared with me why, wherever my destination is, Eres should be my confidant.

"I believe that people lose sight of how important fit is, and focus on what they think will look 'sexy,'" Delafosse explains when asked about the minimalistic embellishments of Eres swimwear. This is not a critique. It is a compliment when compared to others overly ornamented with hardware and print, skimping on the fabric (quantity and quality). Sometimes I am not sure if the design is supposed to draw attention to me, or divert it. "We do not follow trends," Delafosse admits, "Pattern and embellishment will not make a woman feel sexy. It's the fit and confidence she carries when she puts on the pieces that make her feel sexy."

It was very appropriate and an innovative concept when Eres began offering swimwear year round to cater to the jet setting clientele of Paris from its inception in 1968. Their style has consistently been subdued elegance with the upmost quality. "Eres suits are always described as clean and modern. My standards are to design pieces that combine luxury with understated sophistication."
The inspiration for the stunning 2012 swim collection "was Egypt, Syria and Morocco," which Delafosse clarifies are reflected in the colors and design in the Babylon, Sultan and Hammam swim suits. I'm in love with the color combos in the Bazaar line, the button details on the Sultanes, and spearhead-like peepholes seen throughout the Perseé. Their exclusivity is also partially due to their fabric. Delafosse justifies, "The fabrics Eres uses in their swimwear and lingerie are special patented fabrics that only Eres uses."
As for feminine foundations, the House stays true to itself with attention to quality, design and the feminine form. "The Galatée collection from the Spring/Summer 2012 is my favorite," says Delafosse. "The colors are bright and bold while the lace trims are delicate and feminine." It's interesting how the designer has to design one line of garments that will not be seen by (almost) anyone but you (God forbid), and another line intended to be viewed by all (God help us). "Our pieces are designed to give the best fit possible, designed for a woman's body and shape," reassures the designer. Personally, my favorite is the lovely Ondée in the Venin color.

Comfort is still an important element for Eres lingerie. Comfortable lingerie? This may conjure up unfavorable mental images: visions of your mom in a fat terry robe. But wrong you are, and let me erase that thought for you. Think sexy, soft, sheer and elegant. Now, that's better.
New this year to the company is nail lacquer to compliment the bold colors in the swim collection. In addition, "We are working on extending our product line and to expand the Eres lifestyle." Keep an eye out for more Eres boutiques popping up all over the world. "We opened our first store in Toronto, Canada," Delafosse states. Locations in Moscow and San Francisco are also in the works.

Fashion "Rules" You CAN Break.....

Fashion changes and things, which were considered inappropriate in the past, are normal now. Every rule our grandmothers have followed blindly is broken now. And this isn’t bad as when people break a rule they invent something new, they express their unique personalities and make this world different and more interesting. Let’s speak about 5 fashion rules we never follow now, but the previous generation did:
Rule #1: You shouldn’t clash prints
This rule is pretty outdated considering the fact everyone mixes prints now, not only fashionistas and bloggers but also designers, right on the runway. Just have a look at Mary Katrantzou, Peter Pilotto, D&G, Betsey Johnson and Preen’s collection and you will see how beautiful and stylish a combination of prints can look.

Rule #2: The older you are the lower your hemline should be
Beauty technologies have advanced so much that a 40-year-old lady can look as good as a 25-year-old girl, and her body can be even more toned and fit. For example, Jennifer Aniston, Andie McDowell, or Claudia Schiffer look younger than some of our friends in their 20s. Besides, as Joan Collins once said, ‘Age is just a number.’ And if you look gorgeous, why hide it only because someone think it is inappropriate for you to show some flesh? If your legs look great, put them on the display! (But don’t go for minis, they look cool only on teenagers.)

Rule #3: You should match your shoes and bags
Some time ago this was a really important rule no one could break. Now everything has changed. You should no longer match your bag to your shoes. You can do quite the opposite: make a contrast with them.

Rule #4: You should never wear tights or socks with open-toed shoes
Many women wear socks and tights with their open-toed shoes now, including stars like Rihanna and Alexa Chung.
Such a combination can look very bold and edgy, but make sure the seams don’t show across the toe, as this is completely unforgivable.

Rule #5: Underwear shouldn’t be seen through your clothes
This rule is very old and hardly followed by fashion-conscious ladies. Designers create plenty of stylish garments in sheer materials which show everything you wear underneath. There is nothing wrong about it. Just ensure that you wear a really nice bra under your blouse or top. As for sheer skirts or pants, they are still inappropriate. No matter how beautiful your panties are, they should be hidden.

Tips on Choosing Gloves for your lingerie Outfit

Gloves can be a very sexy part of your lingerie outfit. They are soft to the touch and add savor to your look. There are different fabrics, textures and colors that you can choose from to match with your lingerie. These are the tips on choosing gloves for your lingerie outfit.

Satin elbow length gloves. These are classy, dramatic and almost theatrical especially paired with a corset or corset-like wear like basque. You may choose another fabric but these work best in satin as it is very smooth and soft. If you want to play a role, for example of a burlesque dancer you can opt for longer gloves with some embroidery.

Medium length gloves. These can come in satin or black mesh, even lace and work best with the lingerie of the same texture and color. Wear them with a lingerie set, garter belt and stockings.

Short gloves. Short gloves will best work in lace with frill trimming. They can be worn with less lingerie, for example, only bra, panties and a pair of sexy pumps or you can make your hands in gloves work as bra.

You can also try fingerless gloves out of sheer lace or mesh with some embroidery.

Gloves can add sensuality into your sexual life and style in your lingerie outfit. Experiment with the length of the gloves and different styles of lingerie and this may become a part of your sexy costume or simply a cute little detail to take off dramatically.

Britney Spears vs. Ashley Tisdale — Summer Fashion Faceoff

It's a battle of the singing blondes! Pop star Britney Spears and "High School Musical" actress Ashley Tisdale both chose the same hot pink mini dress by Brian Lichtenberg just two weeks apart. We know the "Till the World Ends" songstress outsells Tisdale's pop albums, and Tisdale's infinitely better at acting (have you seen "Crossroads"?!). However, when it comes to deciding who wore this scuba-suit inspired frock better, the winner's not crystal clear. It's time for us to choose ... who wore it better?!

Spears, 30, rocked the design as she judged auditions for "The X Factor" in Austin, Texas, on May 24. She added black Yves Saint Laurent heels, which she reportedly used to walk off the set after a contestant butchered her song "Hold it Against Me." Spears denied the story via Twitter. "#Britneywalksoff??? LOL was just taking a little break people," she wrote. "I am having the BEST time!!!"



Tisdale, 26, donned the dress for the opening of Mizumi restaurant at the Wynn Las Vegas on June 7. The starlet, who's executive producer of the new unscripted Bravo series "Miss Advised," also wore nude pumps and a chain strap purse. Like her competition, Tisdale left her locks down.

Athletic-inspired clothing is all the rage, so this $396 dress is fun and trendy. It also allows both women to flaunt their fabulous figures. Nice choice, ladies! Looking at it closely, the frock fits Spears' bod a little better, so she has the edge there. What I can't get past, though, is her choice of shoes, which change the entire vibe of the ensemble. While this is one of Brit Brit's better looks, I'm calling this one for The Tis. Do you agree?

A vintage day for fashion and even Prince Beatrice got it right as the Queen celebrates Jubilee with river pageant

Well, I was in tears. When the Queen emerged from her limo, she shimmered. 
She was in a white boucle coat with  a ruched ribbon fastening, embellished with Swarovski crystals, designed by her redoubtable dresser,  Angela Kelly, and a year in the making. 
The only note of dishevelment was that her solid Launer of London handbag was open (Camilla soon told her to snap it shut); the sole sign of her advanced age a cashmere square for warmth later.

The Duchess of Cambridge smiled as she waved to the crowds ahead of the Jubilee River Pageant. She joined her husband Prince William and the Queen on The Spirit of Chartwell

The choice of white was fitting, reminding us of the brilliance of diamonds, and a serene change from her usual vivid colour choice. 
 The Jardine Star brooch sparkled despite the rain, and she was also wearing her usual pearl Ladies of Devonshire earrings and necklace, a wedding present from Queen Mary. 
Even Karl Lagerfeld, who hates women with a BMI and age above 15, wrote on Twitter: ‘For her role, and who she is, it is hard to imagine a different outfit the Queen could have sported better.’ She was, to put it simply, perfect.

It was the older women who shone on the day. The Duchess of Cornwall looked smart in a slightly floaty coat dress with lattice sleeves by Kensington couturier Anna Valentine and a Philip Treacy picture hat. 
Carole Middleton was impeccable in a cream tailored summer suit. 
Pippa was unusually frumpy in a prim nautical blue and white dress by Orla Keily (£345) and matching textured jacket (£295), completing the red, white and blue theme of the Middleton women.

A nice idea, but I’m afraid Kate, who took up the red mantle, needs to  realise she has a new family, and should be complete and patriotic in her own right.
Even the gruesome twosome, Eugenie and Beatrice, were understated. Beatrice wore a bespoke Fifties-style dress in silver and navy jacquard (£850) by my favourite London couturier, Suzannah, and a Stephen Jones hat. Her coat was Marni: a marvellously bohemian, and super expensive, Italian label.
Eugenie wore a Roland Mouret dress that sculpted her figure, a black, lacy bolero and a Stephen Jones hat. She also had a cream Moschino jacket in a military style. (Incidentally, Eugenie will be in a silk kaleidoscope dress in royal purple, also by Suzannah, for the thanksgiving service at St Paul’s tomorrow, a choice that tells me these young women have finally grown up.)

A word, too, on the outdoor broadcast female TV commentators: why the oilskins and anoraks? If the Queen can get cold and wet, then so can you.
Even the normally glamorous Tess Daly was spoiled by a raggedy pony tail and gaudy jewellery that looked as though it came from Accessorize. 
Richard E. Grant bothered to look impeccable, so shame on you all, ladies. Even the mums of Jubilee babies were up, dressed and wearing make-up and on the telly!
All eyes were, of course, on the Duchess of Cambridge, and I’m afraid she disappointed, from a fashion historian’s point of view.

Of course she looked exquisite, but that pillar box red dress was a customised design by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen from an off-the-peg version costing £1,195. 
It should have been unique, and therefore should have been couture, not a lazy, hazy compromise.
But it did have a themed boat neck and was pinned with a brooch made of two silver dolphins, a gift from the Royal Navy submarines.
Unfortunately, the red blended with the Spirit of Chartwell’s soft furnishings — a fundamental mistake the Queen would never have made. 
Kate’s svelte figure looked more curvaceous than usual, due to the nipped-in waist, fashionable peplum and sunray pleats.

I am trying to be positive, so will say I loved the jaunty Sylvia Fletcher hat from James Lock, at £795, but why on earth the LK Bennett nude patent courts, at £185? They are so last season and so cheap looking. 
This occasion will be viewed countless times, so Kate should have abandoned the rehashed and the High Street and gone for all-out bespoke glamour. I’d like her to look sexy and young while she still can. 
The Queen, remarkably, stood for the whole journey. By Tower Bridge Kate, suddenly chilly, put on a wildly clashing Strathearn tartan scarf. She fiddled with her loose hair. 
The young male royals have their uniforms; Kate needs to find hers. She is not quite ready to take the sartorial reins. She really should have pushed the boat out.
